Student dormitories

Student dormitories

Student dormitories (or Studentenheime) and flat-share communities are usually the cheapest housing options and are therefore the most sought-after in Vienna. Although there are over 30 student dormitories with 14.800 beds and a couple of thousands flat-share apartments in Vienna there is a huge lack of available spaces. As the admission process differs from dormitory to dormitory, you should ask directly at the dormitory of your choice about the formalities about six months before you start to study. Student rooms usually cost between € 350 and €430 for a single room and € 220 to € 300 for a double room.

The housing market is very tight and finding a decent place to stay for a reasonable price can be very hard. We strongly recommend looking for rooms as far in advance of your planned arrival as possible.

HousingVienna Dormitories

They offer the options of Single Room, Double Room or Mini Apartment to serve any need a student might have. In addition you can choose if you want your kitchen built-in or you are happy to cook with the others in the community kitchen. Vienna’s latest dormitory in style

Vienna’s got a new student dormitory – and if you’re thinking of an old building from the seventies, with barely furnished rooms where the students have to share their bathrooms with others, then think again.
Located in a breathtaking house made of brickstone, City Life Apartments give a home to 182 students.

Citylifeapartments1

In October 2016 there will be even more apartments in their recently enlarged attic, which has a great view over Vienna! City Life Apartments offers different kinds of room concepts, designed for one or two students. The impressive brickstone walls impart a special vibe, characterizing the whole atmosphere by their warmth and style.

Citylifeapartments3

Those who will be moving into one of the apartments can also look forward to premium furniture. From the box-spring bed to a cozy armchair in front of the working desk, as well as a dining table with four chairs – everything will be there, waiting for you! High-speed internet, including 16Mbit, for each student is self-evident. Another highlight are the spacious community rooms: extensive gardens, terraces, a fitness-room with the latest equipment, a passage with table tennis, table football, billiards and a rehearsal room are already waiting for you!

The dormitory as an alternative to a flat

Also convincing is the location of the City Life Apartments in Vienna. The Meidlinger Hauptstraße, a big shopping street, is not  far, a lot of tram stations are located next to the building and the subway is just a couple of footsteps away. Furthermore, there’s good news for those who love to travel: The airport bus stops in front of the City Life Apartments. The sporty ones can reach the inner city by bike in only 20 minutes.
The rent amounts to 520-690€ per month for the two stundents-apartments or 690-790€ per month for the one student-apartments. Of course, all running costs and the use of all the public spaces are included in this price.
