Accomodation Registration
As soon as you arrive in Austria you need to register at the local registry office (Meldeamt).
When: Within the first 3 days of arrival. In case you stay at a hotel/hostel, the reception will register you so you don’t need to go to the registry office. However, as soon as you move to a private place you have to register within the first 3 days.

You can register at any of the listed registration offices. It does not need to be in the same district you are going to live.
Required documents: – Valid Passport or ID – Meldezettel (Registry form) –> You can download the English translation here. – However bring to the office the German version – here.
IMPORTANT: it has to be signed by the landlord (the person you are renting the apartment from or the dormitory administration in case you are staying in a dormitory) and you (the tenant). – Birth certificate
